Disabled  (Hidden from students)

VS

Enabled (Available to Students)

Every ANGEL course is either “DISABLED” or “ENABLED”.

When a course is “DISABLED ”

·         Students cannot see and cannot enter that course.

·         Course Instructors can see the course IF THEY KNOW HOW.

·         Course instructors can “ENABLE” a course.   This makes the course accessible to students.

When ANGEL courses are set up by the ANGEL administrator (Harry Baya) at the start of each semester they are DISABLED.   Course instructors need to  know how to (a) view DISABLED courses and (b) ENABLE a course.   This memo tells how to do those things.

How to View DISABLED courses  - Click Here

IN BRIEF: Instructors can set their home page to “Show Disabled” courses.   To do this, click on the “Edit” button to the right of  “Courses” and scroll down to the “Show Disabled” settings.   Check that box and then click "Save".

NOTE: Each course also has a check box. , Unchecked courses will not be displayed on your home page.

After logging into ANGEL Course Instructors  will see their  “Home Page” and a list of courses.

This page can be set up to either (a) display all of the instructor’s courses or (b) display only selected courses.   Instructors need to know how to view all their courses.      There are three parts to this:

(1)     The home page is set to either (a) Show disabled courses or (b) NOT show disabled courses

(2)    The instructor can choose to hide selected courses so that they are not listed on his or her home page

(3)    There is an “Edit” button that allows instructors to (a) see all their courses and (b) adjust the settings described in (1) or (2)

How to View ALL courses you are teaching  - The “Edit” button !

Click the “edit” button on your home page to go to a screen with  ALL of the courses for which you are an instructor.

The  checkbox next to each course determines whether or not it will be displayed (see Directions above).

Disabled courses are identified with [Disabled]

At the bottom of the Course Settings screen are additional settings for that course:

Click on “Yes” to change the setting so that disabled courses are displayed on the home page.

Click the “Save” button to save any changes made on this screen.  The new home page will then include “disabled” courses
